I belong to a poor farmer family living in the remote valley of the Lungnak River in Zanskar. Born in 1967, I am the alder’s child of a family of 11. At this time the life was very though and at the age of 11 years old, I had to leave Zanskar to find some work out for helping my family member’s.
After spending some years in Leh region, in 1991 I met Pascal Beuret from Switzerland in a trek through Tchadar. After 2 years of being friends, our relationship become closer and starts to become a family.
On this union of two way of life rise the NGO Association Rigzen Zanskar and Marpaling Lamdon Model School Stongday (C.B.S.E board).
The Association is ruled on a synergy of an 8 member Swiss committee and 6 member of a local committee. Wish are employing 17 people in full time work and rise up to 40 during the high season, plus many foreigner who’s come in the summer as volunteers to help and sharing knowledge.
In 2009 the management committee gave birth to an eco-tourism travel agency called BlueYak Travels…
